Hike & Sail in Lycia
Day-1: HOME - Göcek, TURKEY / Transfer & Embark
Guests are met at Dalaman Airport for the half-hour transfer to Göcek where our gulet awaits.
Day 2: Ağalimanı – Lydae – Kleoptra Bath Hike
Short crossing to Ağalimanı where our walk (3 hours) begins. The path takes us to the ancient city site of Lydae before we descend to the far side of the peninsula where our gulet and lunch awaits. We spend the afternoon at leisure before motoring across the Bay of Fethiye for anchorage at St Nicholas Island. At sunset we visit the evocative Byzantine monastic ruins on St Nicholas Island.
Day 3: Kayaköy – Soğuksu Hike- St Nicholas Island Explore
We put ashore at Gemiler for the short transfer to Kaya/Levissi where our walk (2 hours) begins with a wander through this abandoned settlement, testimony to the ethnic upheavals brought by the demise of the Ottoman Empire. Our route takes us over the rise and back down to the water where we rejoin our gulet at Cold Water Bay. We continue along the coast for anchorage at Firnaz.
Day 4: Firnaz – Delikkemer – Patara Hike
At Firnaz we put ashore for our walk (2 hours) towards Patara. Our route takes us past an astonishing section of Roman aqueduct at Delikkemer. We eat in a village restaurant before exploring the ruins at Patara. Time for a quick swim from the remarkable beach before we rejoin our gulet at Kalkan. Overnight at Limanağzı, a quiet bay frequented by loggerhead turtles.
Day 5: Simena – Gökkaya – Kapaklı Hike – Hoyran Explore
An early start brings us to Simena where we put ashore to visit the impressive citadel before following the coastal path along a trail (3 hours) to the village of Kapaklı. A short transfer to the village of Hoyran where there are more ruins to explore before lunch. We rejoin our gulet at Üçağız.
Day 6: Apollonia – Aperlai Hike
We put ashore for the short transfer to Apollonia, an ancient hilltop city that is the beginning of our walk (3 hours). It is a long descent to the waterside ruins at Aperlae where our gulet awaits. There is time for a snorkel over sunken remains before we retrace our route to Firnaz.
Day 7: Alınca – Kabak Hike
We put ashore at Kalkan for the transfer to Alinca, a remote village high on the Seven Capes where our walk (3 hours) begins. This is a spectacular descent through giddying pine forests with views over Rhodes brings us to Kabak Beach, where lunch awaits. A minibus returns us to Fethiye where our gulet awaits. We spend our last night at a quiet harbour in Fethiye Bay.
Day-8: Disembark & Transfer / Fethiye, TURKEY – HOME
Transfer to Dalaman Airport and fly back HOME.
